In 2011, the College was looking for a service provider who would work in partnership with them to deliver high standards as well and enhance their reputation as an outstanding college by Ofsted. Through a tender process, we demonstrated that we would match the standards the college required, deliver best value possible and we were appointed. The contract was re-tendered in 2012, we were re-appointed and agreed a long term contract as a result of our high standards and strong relationship built over the previous year.
Upon moblilisation of the contract, we were made aware by both the Head Teacher and Business Manager that they were not happy with the standards of cleaning as well as the structure of the contract. After our own review, we quickly identified that the current structure was inadequate. It was also noted that there were grave differences between the pre and post tender TUPE. In order to resolve these issues, we adopted new cleaning systems, utilized modern equipment and provided additional training to operatives and rebuild morale with staff in order to quickly bring the school up to the standards required by ourselves and our client.
After consultations with the staff, we were able to promote a member of staff to a managerial role to oversee all areas of cleaning. Also, without any additional costs to the school and through the benefits arising from new modern equipment and increased productivity, we were able to add additional labour resources.
This site is one of our flagship colleges and we take great pride in our supervisor and cleaning staff and their achievements.
